There's More to Maria Menunous' Oscar Dress Than You Think

As with most things, it's the thought that counts.

For example, celebs don't just land on the Oscars best dressed list by accident. Plenty of prep goes into the making of an epic red carpet moment. There's the hair, the makeup, the jewelry—but before any of that, there's the centerpiece: the dress.

Couture designer Christian Siriano has had his fair share of red carpet wins over the years, and it probably has something to do with how much attention he pays to the story behind the dress.

So, when Christian partnered up with Stella Artois to make Maria Menounos' Oscars dress for charity, he knew that he had a big responsibility—not only to beautifully outfit Maria, but also to make a dress that shed light on the global water crisis.

To do that, he used the Stella Artois Limited-Edition Chalices as a big source of inspiration for the host's gown.

In support of Stella Artois' partnership with Water.org, proceeds from the sale of both the chalices and the dress (which will be auctioned off after Maria wears it) will help Water.org provide clean water for people in the developing world. "I'm excited because every chalice that's sold helps give clean water to 1 person, for 5 years," reiterated the designer.

While there's no word yet on the details of Maria's dress (the two are tight-lipped about that until the big reveal on the day of the Oscars), you can get excited about the cause right now by purchasing the Chalice behind the dress!
