The 2016 Grammys sure knows how to make headlines.

From Adele's faulty audio to Taylor Swift's female empowerment speech, last night's show was full of surprises.

And much of it was caught on camera.

Who will ever forget Kendrick Lamar's fiery performance or Demi Lovato's jaw-dropping vocals during the Lionel Richie tribute?

But there was also a lot going on that you didn't see on TV.

Keep reading to get the scoop on the behind-the-scenes action...

1. Top Secret: Beyoncé's appearance wasn't a total surprise. Her name did appear on a lineup distributed to key staffers backstage. But you wouldn't have known she was in the house by the name on her dressing room because said room was marked "PB & J." Too cute!

2. Squad Goals: Not only did Selena Gomez give BFF Taylor a hug when she returned to her seat after her opening performance, but the two also took off for backstage together. Swift also was the first to jump out of her seat when another one of her besties, Ed Sheeran, nabbed the Grammy for Song of the Year. Sadly, Sheeran's co-writer Amy Madge didn't get to share her remarks because the mic was shut off for the start for the Glenn Frey tribute.

3. Attitude of Gratitude: After receiving a standing ovation for her David Bowie tribute, Lady Gaga also received one of—if not the only—applause from the backstage crew. The Oscar nominee returned the love by hugging just about, well, everyone.

4. Never Too Late: After The Eagles' performance, Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich and the Recording Academy president Neil Portnow presented the group with the Grammy they won in 1977 for Hotel California. The Eagles never properly received the award because they didn't bother going to the show that year because they never thought they were going to win.

5. Loo-d Behavior: From the department of celebrities are just like us, that was Charlie Pluth waiting in line to use one of the Staples Center's many public bathrooms just minutes before the show began.
