Watch: Olivia Wilde Breaks the Mold in "Vinyl"

Ray Romano is a little worried. Well, really his mom has a little worried you won't recognize him in HBO's Vinyl. Please recognize Ray Romano.

The Emmy-winning star of Everybody Loves Raymond stars in the new HBO period drama about the music industry in the 1970s opposite Olivia Wilde and Bobby Cannavale.

"A lot of people are saying they don't recognize me in it, and that's good I think…My mother was nervous because I have the hair down, the beard, she's like ‘They're not going to know it's you,'" Romano told E! News at the premiere of Vinyl. "I go, ‘Mom, eventually they're going to know it's me, don't worry.' But it's fun, that's what's fun about it."

In the series from Terence Winter, Mick Jagger, Martin Scorsese and Rich Cohen, Cannavale plays Richie Finestra, a record executive who's trying to get his label back on track. Wilde is his frustrated wife, Devon, but don't expect her to just be on the sidelines and bow down to her husband. "She's really the only one who can match Richie and she's the only one he's truly honest with and that serves the purpose in the structure of our story because you know he's always going to have to come clean to Devon," Wilde told us.
