At the Grammys, stars tend to take risks and throw caution to the wind.

Yes, hiked-up hemlines, head-to-toe sequins and dangerously low-cut necklines are pretty standard. Surprisingly though, it's the celebs beauty looks that wind up being the most unpredictable. 

While some celebs go for a extra-bold makeup that rivals their risqué ensembles (like, oh say, Elle King with her metallic-silver shadow), others (like Demi Lovato with her fresh-faced glow) pared down the powder so that the rest of their look didn't compete with the dress.

Perhaps that's what we adore most about Grammys beauty. It's all across the board, from sultry to demure, supplying us with inspiration aplenty for the coming season.
