Adele has a new outlook on life these days.

After taking time off from her music to be with her son, Angelo, and step away from the spotlight for a while, she's realized who she is, what she loves about herself and what she defines as her "purpose" in life.

The 27-year-old covers the March 2016 cover of Vogue magazine, opening up about how she took just the "right amount of time" off for people to miss her and for her to grow personally.

"I like myself more than ever," she explains. "I feel so comfortable in my own skin. I really like how I look, I like who I am, I like everyone that I surround myself with."

Of course, in a very Adele, self-deprecating way, she jokes about her "bum chin" and her "sausage fingers," but she says she never lets any of her insecurities hold her back any more—a newfound confidence for which she credits her son.

"Angelo makes me very proud of myself," she admits. "When I became a parent, I felt like I was truly living. I had a purpose, where before I didn't."

In fact, her son comes before anything else, despite her amount of worldwide fame.

"We need to have some privacy," she says, explaining her fear of raising a child in the spotlight. "I think it's really hard being a famous person's child. What if he wants to smoke weed or drink underage, or what if he's gay and doesn't want to tell me, and then he's photographed and that's how I find out?"

Thus, she's made sure to set her priorities straight: "My main thing is Mum, then it's me, then it's work."

However, she's also made sure to put some work into her health in order to be the best mother and performer she can be, including quitting smoking, staying away from certain foods and limiting her alcohol intake.

"I was trying to get some stamina for my tour," she says, "so I lost a bit of weight. Now I fit into normal, off-the-shelf clothes—which is a really big problem for me!" she laughs, adding how she's now obsessed with shopping.

And speaking of clothing, we can't wait to see what Adele wears during upcoming appearance at the Grammy Awards on Monday. She is set to perform alongside a slew of major musicians—including Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber—but with the release of 25, she's the first name on our "Can't Wait to Watch" list.

The Grammy Awards will air Monday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. PST.
