The way Bindi Irwin speaks about her late father Steve Irwin will always tug at our heart strings.
Ever since losing her dad, the famous "Crocodile Hunter," in 2006, the public has watched Bindi grow up right in front of our eyes and carry on Irwin's legacy after his passing. In the latest episode of Oprah Winfrey's Where Are They Know?, Bindi explains how she has found ways to keep her father's memory alive with the help of the Australia Zoo, which Steve's parents opened in 1970.
"Everything dad worked every day of his life for and just push it forward into the future so through our work here at Australia Zoo, our continuing filming work, we want to continue to make sure his message never dies," the 17-year-old Aussie says with her usual charm and conviction.
"So throughout my life, I'll continue down that journey of just trying to empower others and following my heart and my dreams of carrying on my dad's footsteps and having fun each and every day."
And while that's enough to give you the feels, there's something we'd argue would send you into emotional overdrive even more.
To promote Bindi's episode on OWN, airing Saturday, Oprah's network posted a throwback picture of the Irwin family on Instagram, and seeing little Bindi with her parents is just absolutely precious. Steve passed away following a freak attack by a sting ray. "When you lose a loved one, you come to these crossroads," Bindi once said to People. "You can take the path that leads you down the aisle of sadness, or you can say, 'I'm never going to let this person's memory die. I'm going to make sure everything they worked for continues.'"
