Before he was going around killing zombies and evil humans on AMC's The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln played one of the most romantic characters ever.

Or...did he?

In an interview with TheWrap, posted Wednesday, the actor talks about portraying Mark in the 2003 cult romantic comedy film Love Actually. His character is in love with his friend's wife, played by Keira Knightley. He was the best man at their wedding and had videotaped the event, focusing primarily on...the bride. One day, he shows up at the couple's doorstep on Christmas Eve with a boom box and cue cards, which he uses to confess his love for her.

"He is a stalker," Lincoln said. "That was my question to [director] Richard Curtis—'Do you not think we're sort of borderline stalker territory here?' And he said, 'No, no. Not with you playing it, darling. You'll be alright.'"

"I quite like the fact that I'm in one of the most romantic movies playing the only guy who doesn't get the girl," the actor told the outlet.

In 2014, an "Honest Trailer" of Love Actually was released, which described Lincoln's character rather unfavorably.

"This guy, who's trying to bang his best friend's wife...wait, is that Rick?" it states.

Lincoln made his comments days before the season six midseason premiere of The Walking Dead. The hit series returns on Sunday, Valentine's Day.
