Watch: "Scandal" Ladies Reveal Advice for Their Characters

When you play a character for four years, you start to care for them as people and have their best intentions at heart. Just ask the women of Scandal.

Kerry Washington, Bellamy Young and Katie Lowes have real love for the ladies they bring to life on a weekly basis—and as they exclusively revealed to E! News' Kristin Dos Santos during a visit to the set of hit ABC drama, they've got plenty of advice for their damaged characters. But who's recommending Match.com, who's recommending a chill pill—and who's insisting upon therapy? Well, you're just going to have to press play on the video above to find out.

During the visit, the TGIT stars also shared with E! News what they've learned from playing the high-powered women we obsess over every Thursday night.

"I feel like I have learned so much from her, and different lessons each season. She's taught me everything from importance of tailoring a good suit to a lot about friendship and about love," Washington revealed about playing Head-Gladiator-in-Charge Olivia Pope. "Sometimes because of who she is—because she's inspiring—and sometimes because I don't want to be her. I would say this season the thing I'm learning from her is the courage to redefine your experience."

Lowes admitted she feels she's grown up alongside Quinn ("It sounds really cheesy, but it's true!"), while Young has relished the opportunity to revel in Mellie's outspokenness. "I’m a very reticent, self-doubting human in the off hours, and it's been incredibly inspiring and empowering to be very my-way-or-the-highway 16 hours a day," she shared. "So to up and scream in somebody's face, I'm gonna tell you, it's a little bit of fun."

Probably as much fun as it's been to watch it.

Scandal returns tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC.
