Brie Larson may very well be win an Oscar her role in Room, but that doesn't mean the actress is letting her rapid fire success go to her well-highlighted head.

Brie covers Elle magazine's March issue, and the actress' smoldering stare is not her only feature worthy of gleaming praise. Perfected smize aside, Brie's recent slew of awards season success—including both a Golden Globe and SAG win (thus far)—has earned her quite the name for herself. And what's more? Her critically lauded performance in Room is soon to be followed by another big project. Brie is set to take on the lead role in 2017's Kong: Skull Island.

While Brie may indeed come replete with the makings to become Hollywood's next It Girl, the actress is far from arrogant about her successes. Or her sensational cheek bones for that matter. Though we must admit, we have yet to garner a sound-bite on the actress's contouring practices. Stay tuned.

One thing, however, is for certain. The actress keeps a fairly impressive cohort of A-list company.

"It was pretty much, like, Helen Mirren, Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, and me. Then Jennifer Lawrence came in for a little bit, and Kate Winslet, Carey Mulligan..." Brie said of one particularly press-worthy weekend preceding awards season last November. She goes on, "You're having meals together, and doing these roundtables—I felt like I was hallucinating. Most of those people I'd never met before, so it was like the moment when you're not at the kid's table anymore."

And indeed, the actress has certainly waved a hearty goodbye to the kiddie table. In fact, she has gathered quite the impressive legion of enthusiasts. Among them? BFF's Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer, to name a few. And word on the street is yet another industry vet has joined Brie's fan club. "Kate Winslet saw me and ran across the room and grabbed me and with such a beautiful intensity and said, 'I am so f--king excited for you!'" Brie recalled. "I love her."

But while Brie may be rolling in the big leagues these days, her renown has not come without its share of obstacles. The actress' personal life in particular, was not nearly as glamorous as her present celebrity may tout. The actress opened up to Elle on her parents' divorce, and on her tumultuous relationship with her father, whom she says she has not spoken to in 10 years. "When legally I didn't have to have visitation with him anymore, I jumped on it," she explained. "As a kid I tried to understand him and understand the situation. But he didn't do himself any favors. I don't think he ever really wanted to be a parent. It wasn't until truly recently that I realized that's why so much of my work was so volatile."

Though arguably, the actress' personal battles have groomed her—albeit tryingly—for the trials which tend to accompany her massive, and steadily increasingly, celebrity.

"All of the stuff I wasn't dealing with in my actual life—all of this anger, my fears and my vulnerabilities—I didn't feel comfortable expressing...when we're out in the public space, everyone's perfect and good, and we're all nice women, and we dress well and we brush our hair and agree with these customs."

The actress may take issue with the harsh demands of the lime light, and rightfully so. The press can be brutal. But one thing is for certain, as far as we can see, fame is certainly agreeing with Brie Larson: impressive humility and all.
