Live from Boise, it's Maya Rudolph!

Except it's not live, and she's not actually in Idaho. Rudolph begins her guest arc on The Grinder this week, and she made a video with her costars (which you can watch exclusively here) the only way she knows how: a la Saturday Night Live, her home of seven years.

But unfortunately, it seems she's not exactly sure how this whole "scripted TV" thing works, and is very disappointed when The Grinder star Rob Lowe informs her that she's not actually hosting The Grinder, she's actually guest-starring.

"There's no musical guest either," a dejected Rudolph asks before Fred Savage crushes her dreams and confirms her fears. "Wow, the audience is going to be really disappointed."

Rudolph begins her four-episode guest stint on Feb. 9, playing Stewart's therapist, Jillian, whom the younger Sanderson brother began seeing when his TV star older brother moved home and shook up his entire existence. Stewart recommends Dean see Jillian to bring his ego down a peg or two, but things not might turn out the way he wants them to.

Dean will embrace therapy—perhaps a little too much, shedding his Grinder persona completely.

Upcoming episodes will also feature guest spots from Colton Haynes (Arrow) and Dennis Haysbert (24), and the first season of the comedy has already seen appearances from Timothy Olyphant, Jason Alexander, Christina Applegate and Nathan Fielder.

"The Grinder is the perfect combination of razor-sharp wit and relatable family dynamics—two hallmarks of successful comedies," Fox Entertainment President David Madden said in a statement when the new comedy was picked up for a full season in the fall.

The Grinder airs Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.
