Remember when The X-Files returned and the premiere was all about Mulder (David Duchovny) and his ongoing struggle to find the truth? Of course you do. And you probably thought, "Hey, what about Scully?" Fear not, Dana Katherine Scully (Gillian Anderson) is getting her time to shine in the season finale, "My Struggle II."

Fox showed the opening scene last night on social media during the Super Bowl's halftime show and, well, it's a doozy.

How is it a doozy? Well, like the season premiere scene, Scully recaps her story via a voiceover. We get old photos, old FBI badges, some fire, you know, the whole shebang. But—and this is a big but because it's crazy—things take another turn as Scully recounts that alien DNA twist. You recall all those experiments they (the powers that be—man? Alien?) did on her.

In the season premiere, Scully revealed she has some alien DNA all up in her genes. What's that mean? We don't know yet, but for Scully, it means fearing she's turning into an alien. Yes, Scully straight up transforms into an alien. It's figurative, obviously…or is it?

Leave it Anderson to have some fun with it all. She tweeted the above image.

As for what else is ahead, well, that remains a mystery. Series creator Chris Carter did give us a juicy tease when he promised the remaining three episodes of the season will get viewers "horrified, terrified and I think frightened in the end for things that no one wants to imagine."

The X-Files airs Mondays, 8 p.m. on Fox.
