Kris Jenner will be the first person to admit she's still dealing with a lot of emotions surrounding Caitlyn Jenner's transition.

In the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar—in which she takes on a circus costume, dressed up as a lion tamer and posing with some clownsthe reality star momager opens up about watching her ex-husband become a woman and how it's impacted her life in so many ways.

While there is still a bit of confusion and some wounds that need healing surrounding the situation, Kris says she also feels thankful to have gained knowledge about the transgender world throughout this experience with Caitlyn.

"I never really thought about it before. And I'd never known anyone who was transgender," Kris explained to the publication. "I didn't even know what the word meant. Because there's transgender and transsexual… I just didn't know much about it. So…I definitely got a big education."

As for moving forward and coming to terms with Caitlyn's transition, Kris says it will still take more time.

"I think at some point, although it was difficult and, uh, a challenge… I just have to let it go," she said. "And try to be tolerant. [With] prayer. God. You know, just trying to understand. It takes time. But time is a wonderful healer. And we have two children together. It's important for my kids to see our family strong and united."

Though Caitlyn's decision to become a woman didn't ever affect the way Kris feels about herself, she does admit it made her question their relationship.

"Thank God, I never doubted myself. I never really doubted my femininity," she admitted. "I just doubted the relationship. You know, what were those 20-plus years all about?"

Meanwhile, Caitlyn also recently opened up about her marriage, explaining how Kris greatly impacted her decision to wait to transition.

"My mission...was to transition before I was 40. Got to 39 [and] I just couldn't go any further," Caitlyn recalled during an interview for the Makers Conference last week. "Three or four months later, I met Kris. We hit it off from day one. I was very honest with her...and I made this decision to move on with my life, Kris and I together with this family."
