Who else just had their mind blown by the Independence Day: Resurgence Super Bowl trailer? Like, bai. Liam Hemsworth can do no wrong in our eyes. Le sigh. The film is a sequel to the '90s classic, which featured Will Smith as Captain Steven Hiller. Tearfully, we have to inform you that Smith will not be reprising his role in Resurgence. Sob! However, we're stoked to see Jeff Goldblum back in action. The film comes out June 24 and from the looks of that fiery trailer, we're about to see some crazy shiz go down. Can you believe it's been exactly 10 flippin' years since the original came out?
The action-adventure film also stars Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Maika Monroe, Jessie Usher, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Travis Tope, Sela Ward, Brent Spiner, Vivica A. Fox and Angelababy, according to the Facebook page. What can we expect this time around? Facebook says, "After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction." Sold!
