These Marvel superheroes sure know how to keep a secret.

There's been lots of speculation Hugh Jackman's Wolverine character might be making a cameo in Ryan Reynolds' upcoming Deadpool movie. Reynolds seemingly fanned the flames of this fan theory (see video above) on Australia Day when, while in character, he had some goodnatured fun mocking Oz, its residents, and of course X-Men Origins: Wolverine (the 2009 movie where we briefly met Deadpool for the first time).

E! News' Sibley Scoles caught up with Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness Thursday at the G'Day USA Gala in Los Angeles. Jackman got a little tongue-tied when asked about "the Deadpool situation and Wolverine," and when Scoles kept prodding, Furness chimed in laughingly this was "[A] trick question!"

Jackman laughed at the mention of Deadpool's recent jab against his character, but he wouldn't give up much beyond that. "Hmm...I haven't seen the movie. I heard it's awesome," he said with a smile, "and I hear he takes a swipe at a number of people..."

Come again? Watch the video above to see for yourself how Jackman responded to the Deadpool rumors. Plus, find out why these Aussie actors think their homeland enjoys such a positive working relationship with the United States (reminder: Reynolds is Canadian).

Deadpool hits theaters Feb. 12.
