Being handcuffed to another person for prolonged periods of time can lead to some major bonding. Just ask Megan Mullally and Jenna Fischer.

In the new NBC dramedy You, Me and the Apocalypse, the sitcom vets play each other's unexpected sidekick during mankind's final days who spend a good chunk of that time shackled to one another. They're part of an eclectic group of seemingly unconnected characters (including Rob Lowe as hot and naughty priest!) around the world who begin to intersect in the most unexpected ways. And in the process, the pair discovered they might be one another's doppelganger.

"What did I learn about her? Only that I love you," Fischer told E! News about her co-star, before Mullally added, "We're best friends, we learned. We just had fun. We didn't have any.."

Before she could finish that thought, Fischer interjected: "I felt like you were my doppelganger, in a weird way."

"I know," Mullally agreed. "We had a lot of similar takes on showbiz." Oh to have been a fly on the wall of that set!

A co-production with Sky in the UK, You, Me and the Apocalypse also stars an international cast that includes Gaia Scodellaro, Mathew Baynton, Joel Fry, Paterson Joseph, Pauline Quirke, and Kyle Stoller
