You know what's so great about Thursdays? Besides the fact that it's the day before Friday, of course.
Yes, all of the throwbacks! And, sure, the pictures on Instagram can be entertaining (unless your timeline is just filled with photos from last month, in which case, people need to freshen up on their #TBT etiquette), but we love taking a look back into the vault to see some old school interviews.
This week we're featuring a bright-eyed, 18-year-old Kate Hudson, who was fresh on the scene promoting her film Ricochet River back in 1997. And although the blond beauty was no stranger to fame because of her famous parents (Hi Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell!), she explains that wasn't the reason she chose this career path.
"This is a job. It's not about the fame, it's not about the money. It's about the passion for doing it," the actress told E! News 19 years ago.
"And it was something that was kinda hard for me, because I didn't really get it growing up. I didn't get the, ‘Well, how could it not be about that?' until I started getting older, and until my mother said, ‘OK, you're going to Summer Stock.' And I did, and I saw it, and I was like, this is what I wanna do. And I became dedicated about it. And I started going to my acting classes, and I started getting dedicated to my dancing classes, and my singing lessons, and everything that kind of helps with performing."
So when it came to her film about three teens wanting to escape from their small Oregon town in the '60s, Hudson was obviously excited, and surprisingly, not intimidated. "I came here sort of knowing what it was all about. I was not intimidated by the set."
She added, "We're all here to work and make a good film. And that's what every film's about."
