Watch: Josh Groban Plays Word Association Game!

Josh Groban isn't singing Donald Trump's praises.

"I loved Home Alone [2]," the singer says. "I did not like him in Home Alone. Although that may be my favorite thing that he's done ever, and I wish that he just kept it at that.

"You had a good thing, Trump," Groban continued. "Why didn't you just keep it at Home Alone? And please stop running."

Groban weighed in on the GOP presidential candidate during a round of word association when I caught up with him at the Sundance Film Festival, where he was promoting his new dramedy, The Hollars (more on that in a second).

What do the names North West and Saint West conjure up? "Better dressed than me," Groban smiled.

This was Groban's first trip to Sundance.

In The Hollars, John Krasinski, who also directed the dramedy, plays an aspiring graphic novelist in New York City who returns home when his mother (Margo Martindale) is diagnosed with a brain tumor. Anna Kendrick plays Krasinski's pregnant girlfriend and Sharlto Copley co-stars as his deadbeat brother. Groban plays the pastor boyfriend of Copley's ex-wife.

Groban says he wouldn't mind jumping into a raunchy role some day. "Go full Bob Saget? Literally!" he said. "But that's what you have management for, to reign you in because if it was left entirely up to me, we wouldn't be sitting here right now."

He's already gotten some offers for NSFW roles. "The thing about naughtiness and obscenities and humor is that sometimes it can be a cheap laugh and so sometimes I think people will think the gag should be, 'Well, let's just give him a whole bunch of off-putting stuff to say because hey, people know him as this kind of like angelic voice kinda dude.' But if it's smartly written, then it's funny."

Groban will make his Broadway debut in September in Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. But before then, he has a world tour to complete. He and his girlfriend, Two Broke Girls star Kat Dennings, will be using a lot of FaceTime and Skype over the next few months.

When they are together, "we just like to be the most boring people ever," Groban said. "We just watch The Great British Bake Off in our pajamas and just try to be at one finally with the universe."
