The former governor of Alaska was back in the headlines last week after publicly endorsing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. She took the stage in Iowa sporting a black jacket with eye-catching metallic tassels adorning it to publicly praise the real estate mogul.
The jacket certainly caught the eye of SNL producers, who got busy backstage recreating the sold-out jacket for Tina Fey, who took a non-political stage Saturday night to reprise her animated spoof of the politician.
While fans of the show were in hysterics over the ensemble—including celebrity pal Steve Carrell who called the performance "transcendent"— daughter Bristol wasn't about to join them.
"I'm sure many of you saw Tina Fey, who sounds nothing like my mom, do a skit based on my Mom's endorsement of Donald Trump," the Dancing With the Stars alum shared on her blog. "I don't know about you, but hearing her fake accent is like nails on a chalkboard for me!"
Palin got even more heated when it came to Fey's physical imitation. "I may be biased, but I think my mom trumps her in the looks department. (Especially for having three more kids and seven more years on Tina!)"
Not one to publicly stifle her thoughts, she blasted the show for revisiting this reoccurring sketch. "Saturday Night Live and Fey have been clinging to this impersonation a little too long. It's getting pathetic."
As for the fringed jacket, Bristol stood her ground. "I still think my mom wore it better," she wrote.
Awkwardly, that's not what her readers thought. For greater opinion, the mom included a digital poll to allow the public to vote on who they thought wore the bolero better. With a majority 76 percent of the votes, Fey reigned supreme.
*Awkward silence*
