Jeffrey Dean Morgan's mom had the same reaction as you when you heard he was joining The Walking Dead: What does this mean for JDM and The Good Wife?

Here's what he had to say on Late Night with Seth Meyers: "I can tell you sort of what's been announced, that is I'm joining the show...I play a character named Negan, and if you're a fan of the comic book, you'll know who Negan is," Morgan said.

"I am. That's the real deal right there," Seth Meyers replied. And he's right, Negan is the real deal. He's a ruthless leader who makes life hell for Rick Grimes and Co. and even kills a fan-favorite character, the same character AMC wanted you to think was dead for a few episodes. Yep, Negan, in the comics, killed Glenn.

"The real deal. He's a game changer and it's a complete 180 from what I'm doing on The Good Wife, which as an actor it's a dream come true. I get to be the biggest ass in the world. It's awesome," Morgan said.

"Will your mom be tuning in for that?" Meyers asked.

"When I took the show, when I took The Walking Dead, she was like, 'What does this mean with The Good Wife?' She was devastated that it could be the end," Morgan said. "And I'm like, 'Mom, just keep your pants on.' [Laughs.] 'See what happens.'"

So...we should all keep our pants on. But we all know what's likely going to happen with The Good Wife: season seven will be the end. At least the end as co-creators Robert and Michelle King intended. They'll be leaving the show at the end of this year, but CBS isn't quite ready to let it go. CBS boss Glenn Geller said they're exploring options for a season eight, but star Julianna Margulies recently joked to a group of casting directors that she'll be unemployed this spring.

"I surprised Robert and Michelle tonight," Margulies said at Casting Society of America's Artios Awards, according to Vulture. "They didn't know I was going to be here. They think I'm here for them, but I'm unemployed come April, and I think you haven't seen me in a while, at least not in person, so I thought I should show up."
