In case you haven't noticed, white sneakers are the It-girl shoe du jour. They're the ultimate choice when it comes to comfort and, now, fashion, as evidenced by Kendall Jenner. Throw them on with any outfit at any time and you'll never be wrong—except if they're filthy.

Almost everything you need to keep them looking new can be found in your home. Own a toothbrush? Good, you'll need one. Some white nail polish? You'll need that too. Take note of these easy practices—because friends don't let friends get caught with off-white sneakers.

Pull Out the Big Guns
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is your new best friend. Wet it, gently scrub and watch the dirt fall off your shoe. Don't have one on hand and need to clean them ASAP? Grab a dish towel and some vinegar to remove the small need-gone stains.

Don't Forget to Brush
Have an extra toothbrush handy? For pristine white soles, this common household item is just the thing to get in those hard to get to places. Wet the brush with warm water, add some soap for maximum efficiency and scrub gently.

Laces Out
Your laces are often neglected, but don't worry there's an easy fix (read: mind-numbingly easy) for those too. Take them off the shoes, soak them in warm water and wring them out. Yes, that's it.

Lather, Rise & Repeat
Having trouble with that oil stain? Bet you didn't know gentle shampoo will get that right out. Just squirt some on a piece of paper towel and go to town. You're welcome.

Quick Tips
Wearing them out today? Drop a bottle of white nail polish in your bag for on-the-go spot "cleaning." Dab some polish on any trouble areas and kick that small scratch on your brand new sneaks to the curb.

Stuff 'Em
After you're all done cleaning stuff your shoes with paper towel. It'll soak up any excess water making the drying period shorter…because ain't nobody got time for that.
