It's been 14 years since The X-Files' Mulder and Scully graced your TV screens and in that time, well, things have changed. They're no longer with the FBI and they're no longer with each other. But that's all about to change. Well, some of that.
In the exclusive clip above from The X-Files' premiere (are we calling this season 10?) titled "My Struggle," Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are brought together by Tad O'Malley (Joel McHale) at the behest of…an alien abductee. Annett Mahendru of The Americans guest stars as Sveta, a woman who claims to be a repeat alien abductee who also has a past with Mulder.
"You probably don't recognize me…you interviewed me and my family when I was just a little girl. Right after my first abduction," Sveta tells them.
Say what?!
You see, Sveta and Tad O'Malley got in contact. Then Tad called up Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) who's still toiling away at the FBI as an assistant director. Skinner then called Scully to have her contact Mulder. Things have been…rough since viewers last saw the characters in the 2008 movie The X-Files: I Want to Believe. But all that's about to change thanks to Sveta and her information about aliens and the government. The X-Files is back.
The X-Files premieres Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. on Fox with a second episode on Monday, Jan. 25 in its regular 8 p.m. timeslot.
