Troy and Gabriella forever!

It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since the Disney Channel debuted High School Musical on the small screen. But in honor of the special anniversary, the cast came together Wednesday night to reminisce about the musical and share some rare footage we can't get enough of.

When we weren't singing "Stick to the Status Quo" and "Bop to the Top," our eyes were glued to the reunion moments where the cast shared audition tapes from 2005.

The one that stood out for multiple reasons was Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens' tape that clearly proved chemistry was present from the very beginning.

"Remember in Kindergarten, how you'd meet a kid and know absolutely nothing about them and yet 10 seconds later, you're playing like you're best friends because you didn't have to be anything but yourself?" she asked. "Singing with you felt like that."

How could casting directors not say no to that performance?! Kudos Disney!

While Vanessa, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman returned to East High for the gym, Zac was unfortunately unable to make the reunion in person. He was, however, able to deliver a taped message that will get fans feeling even more nostalgic.

"Hey guys, I'm so sorry that I couldn't be there in person but I'm with you all in spirit," he shared. "My favorite scene in the movie has to be ‘We're All in This Together.' The unity, the whole cast in that moment was just really, really fun."

He continued, "I'll never forget that day. It's embedded in my mind as one of the most beautiful days of my entire life." It's okay fans, you can have a minute. We may need two.

"Thank you for being a part of this huge High School Musical extravaganza," he concluded. "It's become the coolest thing that I've ever been a part of."

Before the basketball court was emptied out and the auditorium lights turned off, Monique may have summed up the experience best.

"People always say did you know it was going to be as big as it became?" she shared. "Absolutely not but did we know we were a part of something special? Absolutely."
