Mariska Hargitay is back behind the camera on Law & Order: SVU. The Emmy winner directed tonight's episode, "A Misunderstanding," and like all good SVU episodes it's complete with plenty of twists and turns.

In the episode, written by Celine C. Robinson, a he-said, she-said date rape case puts two high schoolers in jeopardy and ruins their futures. Elizabeth Marvel returns as Rita Calhoun and brings in Benson (Hargitay) and her squad to investigate what happened to Abby (Charlie Ray). There's a dress, text messages and social media involved. It's going to get murky and E! News has an exclusive sneak peek below.

"He didn't even notice me until a couple weeks ago," Abby says of her attacker, Chris (Sean Grandillo). "He started texting me. Sexting, really."

She messaged him back.

"I wasn't slutty, maybe a little flirty," Abby admits to Benson.

But since the attack she's had to see Chris in school. Not the best situation.

Guest stars in "A Misunderstanding" also include Andy Karl, Delaney Williams and Bill Irwin.

Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays, 9 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
