Kate Gosselin is looking for a man, but sometimes the process of dating—especially blind dating—can get a little uncomfortable.
In tonight's episode of Kate Plus 8, the blonde mama sees herself feeling a little awkward while first venturing into a blind date with a man named Van. Though he's super attractive, Kate can't help but feel a little tense with her camera crew around while she meets the hunk for the first time—especially when she has to climb into a helicopter while wearing heels!
"A blind date is just plain awkward, any way you look at it," she explains. "But the first thing I have to do on this blind date is—in heels—climb into a helicopter! I mean, I don't know how you could think it's not awkward. I had to act like I do it every day!"
However, as the date goes on things appear to be getting better, and the reality star is able to open up about what she's looking for in a man.
"I think from the experience that I've been through, my main message to my kids is never settle and do be comfortable with yourself enough that you're not just marrying and being with the first person that comes along," she explained to Van. "I think that's a big mistake that a lot of people make."
She also added that finding someone strong enough to handle her huge family automatically sets the bar higher for the men that enter her life. "This time around, I have to be extra choosy, not only for myself, but the bar is set very much higher because it matters so much more for them," she said. "If you're willing to take on someone with eight kids you have to be pretty darn tough from the get go."
As for Van? He seems pretty interested in Kate, telling the cameras, "I don't think I had any clue of what to expect, as someone who's actually never seen the show. I walked in blind. She's just a really engaging person. I'm having a really great time. It's been fun!"
