Jonah Hex, meet the Legends of Tomorrow! The DC Comics hero is joining up with the ragtag team of time-traveling superheroes on The CW's newest Arrow spinoff, and the network has just announced who will play him when the team heads to the Old West.

Johnathon Schaech, who starred as the villainous Castor on The CW's short-lived Star-Crossed (but you probably will best recognize as The Wonders' lead singer Jimmy in That Thing You Do!), will guest star as Jonah Hex in episode 11 of Legends' first season, with the possibility to recur throughout the new series. He'll take over the live-action Hex mantle from Josh Brolin, who starred in as the titular character in the 2010 box office bomb alongside Megan Fox.

The TV character is described as "a true legend of the Old West, a morally ambiguous gunslinger with a penchant for danger. Surprisingly, he knows a thing or two about time travel and the future, but is at home in the Wild West. He's been battling outlaws and gangs for a while now, and advises the team to be extra careful when they arrive in the small town of Salvation."

"Ever since we decided that Legends would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you're going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply MUST include Jonah Hex in it," said executive producer Marc Guggenheim in a statement. "We're thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television."

Legends of Tomorrow premieres Thursday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
