Rob Kardashian can rely on the fierce support of his family to help him through.

Since being diagnosed with diabetes, the 28-year-old E! star is "on the road to recovery," a source exclusively tells E! News. He's been through a lot dealing with his health but he is determined to get better and take care of himself.

We're told that mom Kris Jenner has been by his side and is ensuring that he gets the "best help." His siblings of course have also been there, alternating between close-knit support and giving him space when needed. Admittedly, they've been "over protective" at times, but overall they just want him to recover.

Khloe Kardashian recalled recently to E! News how a phone call with her brother turned into an emotional, impromptu intervention.

"I know it's only, what, Jan. 7 or 8, it's only eight days of this year," Khloe said, "but I think I've seen such a great transformation just mentally right now. So I hope that sticks. Again it's only been a week, but I hope that sticks and I'm always praying and rooting for Rob."

Sure enough, our source reiterates that Khloe has been one of her brother's most ardent supporters and has been throughout this difficult time in his life. She's been helping him lose weight and sharing some of her secrets to living a healthier life that she herself utilized in tough times.

"He's had a year where he kind of wanted to chill. He hasn't been feeling well, we didn't know why," Kris said during a sit-down with Maria Shriver this week. "He was just diagnosed with diabetes, so we're taking care of that." And though he hasn't been in front of the camera lately, "he's always around," she added. "I see Rob every day."

Rob was briefly hospitalized last month, and that's when he found out about the diabetes—which, we were told at the time, was a "wake-up call" for the young man.

Learning about the disease has helped him approach his health in a new way, and Khloe has been there to help him focus on both taking care of himself physically and being kind to himself mentally.

But aside from the usual suspects, Rob has also been reconnecting with brother-in-law Lamar Odom, with whom he was always particularly close to before Lamar and Khloe split up.

The source says that Rob has visited Lamar since the athlete's release from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last week after months in the hospital. They take comfort in each other, adds the insider, who adds that they share "a lot of similar demons" regarding their sense of self-worth.

Rob, who loves his nieces and nephews, has also been doting on the newest member of the family, Kim Kardashian's son Saint West.

Not surprisingly, Uncle Rob thinks the little guy is absolutely great.
