Bryan Cranston has a lot to celebrate these days, and he's not going to let the opportunity to do so pass him by!

The 59-year-old actor just received his first Oscar nomination for his role in Trumbo, and he can't help himself from smiling. In fact, Cranston chatted with E! News' Sibley Scoles to gush about his excitement over the news.

"It's great! You know, sometimes when we become adults we forget to celebrate these moments," he explained. "When we're kids, we remember our birthday throughout the day. And when you're an adult you go, 'Oh that's right, it's my birthday.'"

He continued, "We don't want to get into that frame of mind when we don't mark those times when it's your anniversary or birthday. And this is one of those times for me. I want to celebrate it!"

So how did he plan to celebrate the amazing accomplishment?

"What I want to do is I'd love to have a quiet dinner at home with my wife and daughter," he dished. "Put a log on the fire and have a sip of champagne and mark the day and celebrate the day and don't let it go by without saying, 'This is pretty remarkable, what an honor.' I'm deliriously happy!"

Cranston will go up against some fierce competitors including: Leonardo DiCaprio for his role in The Revenant, Eddie Redmayne for The Danish Girl, Matt Damon for The Martian and Michael Fassbender for Steve Jobs.

The Oscars will be held Feb. 28 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
