Where does J.J. Abrams find the time? He's already back to work for another highly anticipated project.
The producer and Star Wars director shocked fans of his 2008 monster horror film Cloverfield when a trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane surprisingly popped up on the Internet.
In the brief but stirring teaser for the follow-up project, John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. are initially shown sitting around a table playing a harmless game of Monopoly. It seems the trio shares a penchant for games as they continue to fiddle with puzzles and an arcade game.
While cozy, the bunker-esque rooms allude to a mystery conflict up on the surface as Winstead's character continuously looks to the entrance door perched above them, eerily marked by a welcome mat.
As the melody of the rock hit "I Think We're Alone Now" suddenly turns sinister, the characters' demeanors shift from content to concerning.
Most notably, Goodman's character is a far cry from his previous roles—his sudden violent bouts suggest he's the reason the trio has resorted to life underground, though much like its predecessor, a mystery outside force looks like it's also at play.
While little is known about the project, luckily a 2014 synopsis of the film from Variety confirms some of our guesses about the plot line.
"The majority of the movie takes place in an underground cellar, and revolves around a young woman who wakes up in the cellar after a severe car accident and fears she has been abducted. Her captor, a doomsday prepper, tells her he saved her life and that there has been a terrible chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. She does not know what to believe and as tensions rise, she decides she must escape, regardless of the terrors that await outside."
Thankfully, the film debuts in theaters on March 11, so we only have less than three months until all our questions are answered.
