Shay Mitchell is not a pretty little liar, unlike the one she plays on TV.

The star of Freeform's hit series Pretty Little Liars sat down with E! News at Toshi's Penthouse inside the Flatiron Hotel in New York City Wednesday, where spoke candidly about how taking care of her mind and body. "I work with such a wonderful team of people," said Mitchell, who has 10 million Instagram followers and 1 million YouTube subscribers. "For me personally, though, I do think it comes from how you're feeling on the inside. I don't mean to sound cheesy about that, but honestly, those rules that we've been told year after year after year about sleep and water and working out, you really do feel so much better when you do those things."

Mitchell's advice may sound simple, but it's effective.

"I think for me, it's kind of getting into a routine of things. I've used the Bioré skin cleanser since I can remember, and I think it's about taking those times to kind of replenish your skin," the 28-year-old TV star explained. Because she wears makeup on the set of her show and on the red carpet, Mitchell spends her Sundays applying face masks and other beauty treatments. "You really do have to take a day out of the week to kind of have your own mini spa day," she said.

Mitchell doesn't just treat herself to spa days, though—she also treats herself to indulgent foods like bread and chips. "My diet is everything in moderation. So, if I want to eat that whole pizza, I'm going to eat that whole pizza. But then I'm going to go to the gym and maybe do two workouts the next day—but also because I enjoy it. So, I think for me it's never holding back on anything because I'm the kind of person that's like, 'OK, you never know if tomorrow is going to come, so I'm going to eat this cupcake.' But I'll work out after it," she said, adding, "If you told me I could never have chocolate cake for the rest of my life, I would be OK with it. Pizza? No."

Suffice to say, Mitchell has never felt better or more confident than she does right now. And though the actress has her fair share of male admirers, she admitted to E! News that she's not looking for love right now. "I'm actually just having so much fun. I'm so busy, too, and I have a really good group of people that I surround myself with and we have a really good time, so I never really focus on what's to come with that," she explained. "When it happens, it happens."

Pretty Little Liars airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. on Freeform.
