CBS's Supergirl is getting double the Kara Danvers when Laura Vandervoort guest stars on the DC Comics drama. The Canadian actress, who played Kara/Supergirl on the CW's long-running Smallville, is set to play escaped villain Indigo on the new series. How meta!

Producers of the show describe the character is "a living, strong-willed supercomputer that was sentenced to Fort Rozz after turning against the people of Krypton," and now that she's on Earth she'll "let nothing stand in her way."

Vandervoort will recur on the series, which stars Melissa Benoist as young assistant/part-time superhero Kara/Supergirl.

Also cast on the show is soap star Jeff Branson, who will recur as Master Jailer, Fort Rozz's powerful and brutal jail guard who shows no mercy. He's hell-bent on capturing all of the prison's escapees and bringing them to justice.

After debuting to pretty incredible overnight ratings—13 million total viewers and a 3.2 rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic—the show was one of the first of the season to score a full 20-episode pickup.

"That was a big—that was a really, really crazy feeling. It felt like anything else, it felt like just putting on tights and a leotard and then when I saw myself in the mirror—it's almost like a physical, internal change," Benoist told E! News about putting on the iconic Supergirl costume for the first time. "I feel like a different person, I really do."

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
