One of these days Ricky Gervais will really need to learn to come out of his shell.

The comedian, who just wrapped his fourth stint as host of the Golden Globes, started the night off by insulting the entire room of Hollywood royalty and ended the evening with a jab at Mel Gibson. In between? Nothing but Ricky-ness, which is a term we are now using to describe Ricky Gervais' hosting personality, because there just isn't one single word that describes it at the moment.

Here were Ricky's best and most shocking moments at the 2016 Golden Globes:

1. When he wasn't afraid to show the room how bored he was

NBC

2. When he introduced Kevin Hart and Ken Jeong as "adorable presenters" that Brad and Angelina would want to adopt

NBC

3. When he mocked Mel Gibson yet again right before he came out to present

NBC

4. And when they decided to bro it out anyway and Ricky asked him a question so dirty, it was bleeped out completely

NBC

5. When the first thing he said to the room was: "You disgusting, pill-popping, sexual-deviant scum"

NBC

6. When he made sure everyone knew that not only did he make a joke about shoving his Golden Globe up his butt, but that he was asked to host the show for a fourth time

NBC

7. When he introduced presenters Eva Longoria and America Ferrera as "two people your future president Donald Trump can't wait to have deported"

NBC

8. When he introduced Matt Damon with a giant dig at Ben Affleck: "He's also the only person who Ben Affleck hasn't been unfaithful to." (His joke made him giggle a lot)

NBC

9. And when Matt Damon could only react like this:

NBC

10. And when he wrapped up the show with this gem: "From myself and Mel Gibson, shalom!"

NBC

You'd think HFPA would learn, but we bet we'll see Ricky again in two to three years.
