The actor was tasked with presenting the first award of the night with his 22 Jump Street costar Channing Tatum and he decided to take a little, well, wild angle. Instead of appearing onstage as himself, Hill showed up as none other than The Bear from The Revenant.
That's right, we're talking Leonardo DiCaprio's worst animal enemy. Hill looked unrecognizable in his bear-shaped hat, and inhabited the role so uncannily that it took even the most discerning Globes guest by surprise. Or something like that.
"I've notoriously done zero press for the film," the bear began. "I'm a Daniel Day or Tom Hardy type of actor that doesn't like my face out there that much. I would like to thank Leonard, my co-star."
The bear went on to give a shoutout to The Revenant's director, Alejandro González Iñárritu, saying "I'm a 2-year-old bear from the Sierra mountains, you know, you took a chance on me and I honestly, I don't forget it, pal, I don't forget it."
He's awfully appreciative for a bear, no?
Of course, Hill-slash-The-Bear did show a bit of his nastier side, noting that "there are a few studio heads I wouldn't mind taking a swipe at later tonight," but we'll chalk that up to his bear-like tendencies and not any ill will towards Hollywood.
He went on to award the Best Supporting Actress in a Movie category to Kate Winslet, and then gracefully took his exit. All in a bear's days work.
