Taraji P. Henson is obviously thankful for her iconic role as Cookie Lyons on Empire.

"Who knew an ex-con would take me so far?" she joked to Ryan Seacrest during E!'s Live From the Red Carpet at the 2016 Golden Globes. But all jokes aside, the actress admitted she's nothing but grateful for the nominations both she and the show have received.

"I never really put the much on awards, but I'm always honored because I work really hard," she said. "We work hard as a cast, the crew, and it's just really a nice treat when your efforts a being honored."

Taraji recently received another honor when Cookie was named Time's most influential fictional character of 2015. After that major compliment, the actress said she has no plans to make any changes—because there's really no reason to!

"I just keep doing what I'm doing. That's what got me here. I haven't changed anything. I'm still the consistent actress that I've been, so I'm not going to change anything." Amen!
