The 31-year-old actress' dad gushed about his daughter during an exclusive red carpet interview with E! News' Ryan Seacrest. Gina is nominated for her second Golden Globe for her title role on the CW show Jane the Virgin after taking home the award last year.
"I just feel very happy for her, very happy for our family," Gino said.
Gina had given her parents a shout-out during her memorable, emotional Golden Globes acceptance speech last year, thanking them for telling her to "dream big and never stop dreaming."
When asked how she can top last year's speech if she wins at Sunday's ceremony, the actress told Seacrest, "I really haven't thought about it that far, to be honest. I mean, I am super, super blessed to be even a part of it."
"I'm just glad I brought my dad here with me," she added.

Gina walked the red carpet wearing an off-the-shoulder, silk sapphire Zac Posen ball gown, paired with Neil Lane diamond jewelry (that she "kind of wants to keep") and Jimmy Choo heels ("Which makes me feel taller than I've ever been in my life!")
Earlier in the day, Rodriguez posted on her Instagram page a photo of her and her father getting ready in their family living room, with a glam squad.
"My hair was a little bit too long," he dad told Seacrest. "So her hairstylist decided to give me a little haircut."
