When Gaston makes his grand return to Once Upon a Time this spring, your eyes will not be deceiving you. He will look different from the last time you saw him.

The ABC fairy tale mash-up hit has cast Wes Brown as the boorish suitor from Belle's past for an upcoming episode in the second half of season five, E! News has confirmed. The episode he'll appear in, which will take us back to Belle's (Emilie de Ravin) time before she met her true love Rumple (Robert Carlyle), has not been set yet.

Variety first reported news of Brown's casting.

Brown, who previously appeared in True Blood and Private Practice, replaces Sage Brocklebank, who originated the role of Gaston in one episode of the first season of Once.

Oddly, this isn't the first time the show has recast one of its male characters. Before Regina (Lana Parrilla) fell in love with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), he was played by a different actor. Lucifer star Tom Ellis originated the role in an episode of season two before Maguire took over in season three.

Once Upon a Time returns on Sunday, March 6 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
