Alyssa Milano and Wendy Williams aren't exactly on the same page when it comes to breastfeeding in public.
The 43-year-old mother of two has posted multiple photos on social media showing her feeding daughter Isabella, 16 months, and son Milo, 4. As Alyssa explained on The Wendy Williams Show, she's become "a breastfeeding advocate" and as a public figure, she wants to help normalize breastfeeding. There are plenty of people who take issue with moms breastfeeding in public, though--including Wendy!
Alyssa then asked Wendy why some depictions of breasts in a sexualized context are A-OK to show in public, but not an image of a woman utilizing her breast for a purpose in a nonsexual way. The talk show host acknowledged that to her personally, breasts "are more sexual than a feeding thing."
"Breastfeeding is only a particular amount of time, [but] the rest of your life, your breasts are sexual things," Wendy said.
"But biologically, they're not made for sexual things," Alyssa countered. "That's what we've done to them."
Wendy argued, "They're fun bags," and went on to acknowledge that her stance on the issue isn't the norm. Alyssa stayed strong in her pro-breastfeeding stance, quipping, "You're lucky the baby's not here. I'd whip 'em out right here and feed her on your show!"
This wasn't a heated interchange between the ladies, though—quite the opposite. Things were civil—friendly, even! Wendy even complimented Alyssa's pixie 'do, which she cut "just before the holidays."
"I was just ready for a change," said Alyssa. " I went super, super light for my brother's wedding...and it kind of damaged the ends. So I just cut it off and started from scratch!"
Alyssa also said she liked how no-fuss this look is, because with two little kids at home, she doesn't have too much time to spend styling hair! What's most important to her, she explained, is spending time with Milo and Isabella, and everything else comes second—including losing the pregnancy weight!
"I always take my time losing the baby weight because there are so many more important things to be going through," she said. "I was 172 pounds the day I gave birth to Isabella, which is exactly what I gained with my son...So it was about 55 pounds [weight gain with each baby]!"
