The death of Cory Monteith in July 2013 absolutely devastated Lea Michele. However, more than two years later, she has been able to find love again with Matthew Paetz, and she truly believes her late boyfriend would incredibly happy for her.

Sitting down with Fempire Podcast on Tuesday, Michele told hosts Becca Tobin, Keltie Knight and Jac Vanek that Paetz understands her history with Monteith and is always supportive.

"He is very respectful towards the person that I was with, and that, again, is something I love so much about him," the Scream Queens actress explained, adding, "I really know that Cory would love him too."

Michele and Paetz began dating a year after Monteith's death in June 2014 and have been almost inseparable ever since.  The brunette beauty says being in Hollywood has helped them form a very special, unbreakable bond.

"At the end of the day, this industry is really tough, and the only way to get through is to create a solid unit, and that's really what we've been since day one," she said on the podcast. "We've stood by each other through anything that was thrown our way. [Matt] is a such a great man that he would never really let anything like that ever crack our lovely little core that we've created."

Part of the struggle in the industry is continuously dealing with critics and speculation judging their relationship—something Michele says she brushes off as long as it doesn't impact her or her loved ones personally.

"They don't know my private life, so I understand that people are going to say whatever they are going to say," she admits. "[But] as long and he and I are good, my family's good, my friends are good, that's all that matters."
