InstagramIt only seems appropriate that on the same day another season of The Bachelor kicks off, we have some exciting news about a former contestant.
Remember the most awkward finale ever? Yes, the one in which season 18 star Juan Pablo Galavis chose Nikki Ferrell but didn't give her a ring and refused to say he loved her on live TV. Well, she's totally moved on from that!
Nikki took to Instagram today to announce that she's engaged!
"And on the last day of vacation this happened!" She wrote beside a photo of her boyfriend, Tyler VanLoo, down on one knee. "I can't wait to marry my best friend. Over the moon happy right now!"
The engagement happened after the couple spent several days ringing in a snowy New Year in Colorado.
Meanwhile, Nikki and Juan Pablo confirmed their split in November 2014, just a few months after their controversial Bachelor finale.
She told Life & Style magazine at the time, "I love him so much, and I know he feels the same way about me. There would have to be a lot of compromising and sacrifices on both of our parts for it to work. Who knows what the future holds, but at this point in our lives, it's not working for either one of us."
During the season 19 premiere of the Bachelor last January, she reiterated those feelings and dived a bit more into depth with Chris Harrison.
"There was a while where I did feel like he was totally in love with me. Was it too late? Probably," she said. "I think at that point I had come to the conclusion that we were different people and we were never going to be on the same page."
We're happy to see she's finally found her happily ever after! Congrats to the couple!
