Social media can be a source of feuds or a place of great debate, but sometimes it just causes downright confusion.

Gwen Stefani is notably dating Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert's ex-husband, so for all intents and purposes that usually means that these two women would keep their distances. But the No Doubt songstress has defied fans' expectations by favoriting liking one of Lambert's tweets—as recently as Dec. 26, 2015! That's right, she liked one of her boyfriend's ex-wife's tweets after she started dating him.

The tweet in question is a link to an Instagram photo of Lambert's grandmother posing with her country-singing granddaughter. "Her name embroidered inside is priceless. A family heirloom I will cherish forever," Lambert's tweet and caption began. "I'm so thankful for her and all the things I have learned from her. Nonny is strong, beautiful, feisty and most of all, loving. #grandmastreasures #diamondsfurandwhiskey #wandathewanderer."

Fans obviously caught wind of Stefani's subtle compliment, but no one understands it. "It's the apocalypse..." one fan noted on Instagram.

Another noticed that Stefani doesn't even follow Lambert on social media, so the decision to like the tweet is extra strange. "It's like someone said on Twitter, 'I'm not gonna follow you back but here's a like, thanks for your support' lmao," another wrote.

Stefani might not follow Lambert, but Lambert certainly follows her ex-hubby's new flame. When we noticed she decided to give The Voice coach the follow, we thought it was more of a peace offering instead of a way to keep tabs given how Lambert has moved on with Anderson East. With both women happy with their guys, there doesn't seem to be a reason why Lambert should keep an eye on Stefani. Perhaps everyone is trying to keep the peace, as Stefani still follows her own ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, and Shelton and Lambert still follow each other.

Shefani haven't made any efforts to conceal their relationship since going public, and Lambert also has made her relationship Instagram official, so these online actions might really be olive branches.
