Normally after a breakup, couples will go their separate ways—unless there are kids involved.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck announced their split over the summer but have decided to remain more than amicable for the sake of their children. Unfortunately, that sometimes has its downsides for the Daredevil stars even though it has been a good choice for Seraphina, Violet and Samuel. Thankfully, both Garner and Affleck have their own spaces.

"Ben is living in the family house, but in a separate section. He has a room to himself, but it's in an area that Jen goes to on a daily basis," a source close to Garner tells E! News. "It has forced them to have to day-to-day interactions and spend a lot more time together than a typical separated couple. It's working well for the kids to have both of them there in close quarters, so they have made sacrifices and agreed to do it for now."

Even though the kids appreciate their parents' decision to continue to live together, it's starting to take its toll on Garner. "It hasn't been easy, especially for Jen. She is fed up and frustrated with some of Ben's choices," the insider adds, "but she chooses to look the other way and do what's best for her kids.

"She feels like Ben is no longer her responsibility, and she isn't going to stress over what he's doing."

The former couple spent the holidays together with both extended families as one unit because they believe that family should always come first. "They are enjoying a great holiday season as a family," another source tells us, adding that Affleck is all-in when it comes to his family. "Although Ben and Jen are not together, they are putting the kids first living in the family house. Ben continues to commit to being a 100 percent dad and family member."

The other source also told us that it "isn't true" that Garner is fed up with Affleck.

Despite the alleged frustrations Garner often feels about her ex and their complicated situation, they will continue to live together in their Los Angeles home. "There are no plans for Ben to move out any time soon," the source says. "With work commitments, they will both be in and out of the house and just want to keep things stable for the kids."
