After a one-year hiatus and some family changes, the Kardashians and Jenners will once again debut what is likely to be an eye-popping public Christmas card.

Meanwhile, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians family is also getting ready for their annual Christmas Eve party, which will also be different this year.

The Kardashians and Jenners are known for their elaborate family Christmas cards but had skipped the annual tradition of publishing one during the 2014 holiday season. This year, they do plan to release one, and soon, and it will be a different style than those of years past, E! News has learned. It is unclear how many of the family members agreed to pose for it.

Kim Kardashian, 35, had said last year they "ran out of time" to release a Christmas card. Around the 2014 holiday season, family matriarch Kris Jenner, 60, and ex Caitlyn Jenner, 66, were finalizing their divorce.

Months earlier, Kim's brother Rob Kardashian, 28, started to become reclusive as he battled weight gain and other personal issues. He largely remains out of the public eye to this day and was absent from family photos taken at Thanksgiving and at another big family bash—his mom's Great Gatsby-themed birthday bash (pictured above).

This will mark the first Christmas for Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, since she revealed early this year that she is transitioning to become a woman and also announced her female name.

This will also mark the first Christmas Kourtney Kardashian, 36, will spend as a single mother. The reality star and Scott Disick, 32, father of their three children—Mason Disick, 5, Penelope Disick, 3, and Reign Disick 1, split over the Fourth of July holiday.

Both Caitlyn and Scott are invited to the annual Christmas Eve party the Kardashian and Jenner family is throwing at Kris' home. The bash will be "scaled down" this year and will be more of an intimate family gathering, with fewer friends invited than in years past, E! News has learned.

"They just wanted it more low key, especially because Kanye and Kim are there now with the baby," a source said.

Kim and Kanye West, 38, welcomed their second child, son Saint West, on Dec. 5.

In addition to attending the family's Christmas Eve bash, Khloe Kardashian, 31, is also expected to celebrate the holiday with Lamar Odom, 36, who remains hospitalized following an October overdose.

"If he does stay in the hospital through the holiday, Khloe plans to visit," another source told E! News.
