Tina Fey is tougher than she looks!
In the newly released trailer for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Fey plays Kim Barker, an American reporter who travels to Afghanistan and Pakistan as a war journalist. She's looking for a total change of pace from her monotonous life in the States, and as she quickly finds out, she's in for that and much, much more.
Put up with other foreign reporters in what's referred to as "the funhouse," Barker (Fey) is quickly embraced by Margot Robbie's character, Tanya Vanderpoel. "It's so nice to have another woman in the house," says Vanderpoel, pulling her in for a hug.
She then proceeds to size up her new female friend, telling Barker, "In Afghanistan, you're a serious piece of ass...In New York, you're like 6-7? Here, you're a 9, borderline 10."
"What are you here?" asks Barker. "Like a 15?"
"Yeah," Vanderpoel admits.
Barker is on assignment for work, though, not just making friends, and before long she's astonished to find enemy forces mean serious business. "These a--holes tried to shot us," she screams.
But she allies with Vanderpoel, who wants to "go big or go home" in their quest for a story. They encounter plenty of interesting characters along the way and nearly get killed in the process.
This war comedy also stars Billy Bob Thornton, Christopher Abbott, Martin Freeman and Alfred Molina. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot hits theaters March 4, 2016.
