The kids at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles got an early, extra-galactic holiday gift this week!

Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker, visited children at the center as a part of the Star Wars Force for Change initiative—a program that uses the franchise to raise awareness for different charities around the world. He even brought a couple pals with him, including: R2-D2, Darth Vader and a few Stormtroopers!

As you can see by watching the video from their visit below, the young patients were thrilled, surely to feeling incredibly lucky to get such a cool visit.

However, Hamill says it was an amazing gift for him, too. He wrote on Facebook, "Thank YOU Children's Hospital Los Angeles! Feeling the pure joy and exuberance of those children up close and personal is a gift to cherish."

The Star Wars Force for Change initiative also includes seven other visits to hospitals around the country during which children will have the chance to hang out with their favorite characters from galaxies far, far away. The program will help promote healing through creative inspiration and collaborative innovation.

Of course the program goes hand-in-hand with the highly-anticipated release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Friday, Dec. 18.
