If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen, and if you can't handle a perfectly executed water hair flip, stay away from Padma Lakshmi!
The Top Chef host put Princess Ariel to shame with her Little Mermaid-inspired, slow-motion Instagram video. The clip shows Padma, 45, wearing a sexy, camel-colored bikini set against a picturesque background dotted with palm trees. Not one to take herself too seriously, Padma concludes her water hair flip with a giggle and makes sure to wish the rest of us #Happyholidays from Goa, one of India's smallest states.
Based on Padma's Instagram feed, we can tell that she and her 5-year-old daughter Krishna headed to her native India Saturday. Mom has a speaking event on Sunday and took part in a photo shoot Wednesday, but we're betting she worked in some quality mother-daughter time with her mini-me as well.
Padma and ex Adam Dell split before Krishna was born in 2010, but as she revealed in a 2011 interview with Yahoo! Shine (as excerpted by CNN), she explained that she doesn't "feel alone at all in parenting my daughter."
"Krishna has a whole other side of her family who loves her, too," she explained. "And so Krishna is parented by me, but also by her grandmother and aunts and cousins and uncles and friends."
Padma is grateful her daughter can benefit from so many different influences. "The more who encompass her, the more different kinds of people who are in Krishna's life, the better off she is," she said.
If Krishna's lucky, Padma and her Top Chef pals will teach her how to cook someday—and maybe even do a hair flip like mom's, too!
