What did everyone talk about in 2015?

It's probably best to check Facebook.

We spent all of our time sharing, commenting, and liking things on there—what better way to figure out which topics grabbed our focus the most this past year?

Facebook has released their 2015 Year in Review lists, an annual tradition that shows us which stories and celebs got the most love (or, well, attention at least) from Facebook users.

The most-talked about entertainer for this year may surprise you!

Ed Sheeran beat out Taylor Swift for the top spot on the list of most talked-about entertainers, with his friend T.Swift taking No. 2, followed by Kanye West in third.

As a former opening act for Swift, Sheeran certainly has come a long way.

As these are global lists from Facebook, there's obviously some love coming from both sides of the pond. Not to mention, "Thinking Out Loud" and "Photograph" both had us smitten while listening to the radio this year.

The Top 10 most talked-about entertainers, globally, this year were:

  1. Ed Sheeran
  2. Taylor Swift
  3. Kanye West
  4. Nicky Jam
  5. Wiz Khalifa
  6. Drake
  7. Pitbull
  8. Caitlyn Jenner
  9. The Weeknd
  10. Shakira

TV ratings are one thing, but another big factor for the small screen is: which shows make people want to dish? Yes, that includes spoilers, speculation, and casting controversies.

Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead (a.k.a. the two series that kill how many characters per season?!) took the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.

The Daily Show, which saw a hosting shakeup this year with Jon Stewart stepping down and Trevor Noah taking his place, took third.

Here is the global list of most talked-about TV shows in 2015:

  1. Game of Thrones
  2. The Walking Dead
  3. The Daily Show
  4. Saturday Night Live
  5. WWE Raw
  6. The Simpsons
  7. 19 Kids and Counting
  8. Grey's Anatomy
  9. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
  10. Orange is the New Black

As for the movie that has all of Facebook talking this year? The No. 1 spot features a film that hasn't even hit theaters yet... that's right, it's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. (No surprise here, right?)

Universal Studios

The release date may be Dec. 18, but trailers, set photos, and rumors have captured our attention all year from the sure-to-be mega-blockbuster.
