InstagramEven if they've spent your formative years in the spotlight, a star still has to face an awkward school photo. Fortunately for a stunning star like Modern Family's Ariel Winter, there's simply no such thing.
The 17-year-old brunette beauty took a break from her on-camera life to share a personal milestone—a picture-perfect high school senior portrait.
In the photograph, Winter offers up a closed-mouth smile as her dark curly hair frames her face. Around her neck hangs two necklaces, including one with an infinity pendant. She may be a television star, but even Winter still could not escape the classic emerald off-the-shoulder velcro top permanently present at nearly every high school senior portrait photoshoot.
"My senior photo arrived thank you to all that saw the light in me and helped me get where I am! You know who you are," she captioned the shot.
Winter has certainly blossomed before America's eyes since she first graced our television screens on the popular Fox comedy six years ago when she was just 11 years old.
In addition to her on-screen roles, she's assumed an official role behind the scenes as a champion for body positivity, most recently slamming Instagram shamers who said she was "asking for it" in a photo she posted of herself in a bikini alongside her nieces.
"Who knew that an innocent photo with my nieces would turn into this? The height of a girl's skirt or whatever she is wearing for that matter, does not imply what she is asking for," she wrote. "You are not asking for anything because of what you are wearing- you are expressing yourself and don't you ever think you deserve the negativity as the consequence to what you are wearing- YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Celebrate you and don't let anyone's comments allow you to think less of yourself. Us girls have to stick together!!!!!!"
As for this most current shot, we know what we see—a strong and admirable woman. Congratulations on approaching this milestone, Ariel!
