Carrie Underwood has joined the likes of Iggy Azalea, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Hudson, Rod Stewart and Stevie Wonder, all of whom sat in the passenger seat as James Corden's drove them around L.A. as part of The Late Late Show's recurring "Carpool Karaoke" segment. Underwood and Corden began by singing her hit "Smoke Break."

"How long ago did you get married?" Corden asked.

"Five, five and half years," Underwood replied.

After Corden confirmed that Mike Fisher is indeed a hockey player, the host admitted, "I've only moved here recently, so hockey-wise I don't watch it very often, but what I've seen is essentially skating around on very sharp blades and then having a fight. Do you get worried when he has a fight?" Underwood laughed and replied, "Have you seen his latest fight? He knocked a guy's tooth out." Then, lowering her voice and grinning, she said, "It was pretty hot."

Underwood and Corden then sang "Jesus Take the Wheel," which lent itself to an obvious joke. "Look! Look! It's happened. No, seriously! I'm not even joking. I think Jesus has taken the wheel," Corden said as he removed his hands from the steering wheel. After a slight swerve in the lane, it became clear that Corden needed to keep his hands at 10 and 2 for safety's sake.

"Now listen, country music-wise, I've only recently just gotten into it. But if I want to make strides in country music, what do I need to do? Like, I've never owned a pair of boots...Why is that so important?" Corden asked. The American Idol winner quipped, "Boots are our roots."

Corden pumped the breaks to go on a shopping spree with Underwood. "Now, I'm about to make some big waves in the country music scene, but shoe-wise, Carrie says I gotta start with the shoes. So, can you help me?" he asked a store employee. After trying on boots, a hat and a vest, he told the singer, "I know we just came in for boots, but I'm sorry, I think I'm going to shop here all the time now." A little later, the late-night host joked, "David Beckham has just been named People's sexiest man on the planet. Wait 'til this comes out. See ya later, Becks!"

After learning that the vest cost $2,000 and the boots cost $8,000, Corden balked. "What do you think I am, Rockefeller?" he asked. Underwood argued, "That's nothing. Come on! It's an investment." Corden wasn't sold, telling Underwood, "I'm sorry, we're not all multi-platinum recording artists. We haven't all had four Billboard No. 1s! Some of us are on CBS at 12:30."

Corden settled on the hat and they hit the road, this time singing "Before He Cheats." After finishing the song, he asked, "Is it true that you can hold a note for an inordinately long time?"

"Probably," Underwood admitted, later adding, "I don't like this game!"
