Pink might be best known as a pop star, but the "Try" singer is putting on a new hat as the newest UNICEF ambassador.

The mom-of-one stopped by Good Morning America Monday morning to talk about her exciting new role, in which she received following a summer trip to Haiti. "I've always wanted to work with UNICEF," Pink said. "It's the one organization that has over the last 15 years just consistently been in my mind for all the amazing things that they do."

But it was her work in Haiti that really opened her eyes to child malnourishment. After that, she knew she wanted to be involved with the organization in a more serious way. "It was an amazing trip," she dished to Robin Roberts. "It's one thing to see something on paper, but to see it in real life..."

Roberts asked the 36-year-old entertainer if her 4-year-old daughter, Willow, also had an effect on her decision to join UNICEF. After bonding with so many kids, the "Just Give Me a Reason" star admitted that her daughter has always been in the forefront of her mind.

"When you have a child of your own and you try to imagine looking at them and not being able to feed them it does something to you," Pink admitted.

She also opened up about UNICEF's Kid Power, a bracelet that kids wear that allows them to go on missions and stay active to earn points, which ultimately unlock therapeutic food packets to feed malnourished children around the world. Pink and Roberts danced around with a group of kids and Pink's trainer to try and score as many points as possible while on the air.

Suffice it to say, Pink is definitely excited about her new position. "It's so empowering to be in charge of helping," she said.
