InstagramNewsflash: John Stamos was just as studly in high school as he was in Full House and is right now. And his hair? Even more spectacular.
The 52-year-old actor posted on his Instagram page late on Thanksgiving, also Throwback Thursday, a photo of himself and his date at one of their high school proms. And Stamos' hair, as you can guess, is spectacular. It pairs perfectly with his cream, ruffled tux. Oh, the early '80s.
"#TBT #Prom #Hair," Stamos wrote.
Stamos told The Santa Ana Orange County Register in 1989 that he really was pretty "dopey-looking" back then.
"I was lame in high school," he added. "I wasn't an athlete or popular or anything like that. I was a band geek."
The actor grew up in Cypress, a city in Orange County, California located about 20 minutes from Disneyland, and attended John F. Kennedy High School in La Palma.
"I know everybody says this, but in high school, I really was the dorky kid," Stamos told Orange Coast magazine in 2014. "I was into magic and theme parks. I was very innocent. When a lot of kids my age were going out drinking on Friday and Saturday nights, I was at Disneyland, going on the rides and listening to the bands."
Stamos landed his first acting role, a part on General Hospital, soon after high school was over. In 1985, he began performing periodically with the Beach Boys, as a singer, guitarist and drummer.
"I've been doing it off and on ever since," he told Orange Coast. "Their music is timeless. I call it heart music, because it goes straight to the heart."
Full House debuted in 1987, making him famous. He will reprise his role as Uncle Jesse in the new Netflix spinoff Fuller House, which is set to debut in 2016.
