After hearing his childhood camp letters, it's clear Andy Cohen had a flair for the dramatics from an early age.

The Watch What Happens Live host joined Stephen Colbert on The Late Show Tuesday for a melodramatic reading of the letters he wrote to his mother as a child at sleep away camp.

While many other children probably dropped a few simple and pleasant lines about their days spent at the lake, Cohen was much more emotional in his handwritten chronicles.

His theatrical nature was clear from the start when he described his bumpy travel to the campsite in Wisconsin, which included some unfortunate nausea up in the air.

"I don't like this camp so much, but I've only been here four hours," he professed.

Fortunately, he was able to find the bright side of sticky situations early on his life—a skill that would later prove helpful as Bravo's resident mediator-in-chief of the Real Housewives

"Listen to this saying, ‘When you're hot, you're hot, when you're not, you're not, when you're on the pot, you gotta give it all you got,'" he shared with his mom. Always keeping it classy, Cohen!

Still, his camp days were plagued with obstacles, including flunking the camp's canoeing test, which was particularly scary for the young Cohen. "I'm about to kill this camp," he wrote in frustration.

Still, young Andy kept busy, entranced by coverage of the royal redding on the radio and urging his parents to give in and see the hottest new movie out.

"Grease is a good movie so see it!," he wrote. "Don't read this letter to anyone!"

However, at the heigh of his camp drama, he shared his aggravation with his parents over gossip they had spread about his friend Teddy feeling homesick. In true Jersey Housewives fashion, he shut them down just like Teresa Giudice would—just without flipping any tables.

"He showed me the letter himself. I was red. I had to deny saying that. Do you know how hard that is?" he declared. "Keep your mouth shut!"
